Who was at Jesse Jackson Jr.'s "ceremonial groundbreaking" to protect Will County citizens and their property? Dave Carlson was there and was horrified, both personally and as an officer of the court, as Jackson supporters insulted the local residents and vandalized private and county property. Carlson, a candidate for Will County State's Attorney, asks, "Where was (current state's attorney) James Glasgow?"
Carlson attended the Saturday "ceremonial ground breaking" organized by U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and his supporters. While the event itself was a political sham, that is not what disturbed Carlson the most.
"There were hundreds of Jackson supporters …

Earth Day is Sunday, April 22, 2012. It's up to us all to protect our environment for our future and for our children’s futures by going GREEN. As your State's Attorney, I would initiate programs, such as E-Discovery for items including all police reports, photos, videos, statements, etc. and for file storage to help reduce waste. Programs such as this have not been implemented by current administrations, but it's a small and simple measure to reduce negative impact on the enviornment.
In commemorating this 42nd annual Earth Day, I urge all of us, along with our families, to get out …
Candidate for Will County State’s Attorney, Dave Carlson, called his opponent, incumbent James Glasgow, hypocritical for his publicizing what has been an epidemic of heroin overdose deaths, after having ignored the killers for nearly 16 years.
Illinois criminal statutes have a crime called “Drug-Induced Homicide”, which contains some of our most severe penalties. A defendant may be charged with Drug-Induced Homicide when it can be determined that they provided narcotics to a victim who later overdosed. In fact, Illinois’ first Drug-Induced Homicide was prosecuted successfully in Will County in 1990.
Under Glasgow’s …
On Wednesday, I attended a public hearing regarding the closure of the Illinois Youth Center (IYC) in Joliet. The Governor has slated this facility for closure due to budget cuts.
Just a few quick points:
1. IYC Joliet is the only maximum security juvenile detention facility in Illinois.
2. The majority of the inmates are 17 years of age and over.
3. Many of the offenders at IYC are murderers, rapists and violent offenders.
4. The facility employs hundreds locally, contributing greatly to our local economy.
5. The skilled and experienced IYC workforce is second to none in keeping our …
This week I called for an investigation into the allegations being made by former employees and volunteers of the Joliet Township Animal Control Center. These allegations, including animals who were unnecessarily euthanized, have been made by several people who have direct knowledge of the practices and inner workings of the facility in question.
If these allegations are true, they may constitute illegal and criminal acts, specifically violations of the Illinois humane care for animals act, and should be dealt with both swiftly and appropriately. What troubles me more, is that these allegations indicate a pattern of abuse that has been …

Republican Candidate for Will County State's Attorney…
We are just 4 days until the primary.
Let me tell you what that looks like around here. We've got volunteers making phone calls around the clock, fueled by coffee and baked goods. Others are out knocking on doors across the county, reminding supporters to vote.
This primary will be an important test of our ability to take on the 16-year incumbent in the fall, Jim Glasgow. Everyone will be watching to see how many voters turn out to support me.
That's why we're doing everything we can to get supporters to the polls - and we need your help! …

Republican Candidate for Will County State’s Attorney…
"My opponent has failed Will County residents on three fronts," Carlson declares.
Joliet, IL (Feb. 28, 2012)—Dave Carlson, Republican Candidate for Will County State's Attorney, announced today that when elected the County's top law enforcement officer in November, he will immediately launch three major initiatives.
Veterans Affairs and Protection Unit
Carlson said that establishment of a Will County Veterans Court, along with specially trained and dedicated prosecutors handling cases involving veterans caught up in the County criminal justice system—either as defendants or victims—will be a top priority of his Administration.
"I recognize the difficulties many of these ex-service men …
